Maximising the Benefits of DermaSilk Therapeutic Clothing: Washing, Usage and Care Guide

DermaSilk Therapeutic Clothing is designed to be lightweight and body-forming. It must fit snugly and maintain constant contact with the skin for optimal effectiveness.

Like all natural fibres, DermaSilk lasts longer when you rotate several garments instead of continuously washing and wearing one. 

When using medical creams or ointments, ensure they're fully absorbed into the skin before wearing DermaSilk clothing. Thick emollients can create a barrier between the fabric and the skin, reducing effectiveness. However, the fabric itself provides therapeutic benefits as long as it's in contact with the skin.

DermaSilk's antimicrobial properties are permanently bonded to the fabric and won't leach out, even after numerous washes.

Follow these steps to maintain your DermaSilk Therapeutic Clothing:

1. Machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees Celsius using a non-biological detergent. Use a net wash bag to protect the fabric from snagging.
2. Alternatively, you can hand wash.
3. After washing, rinse and place the garments on a towel to air dry. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators.
4. In areas with hard water, soak DermaSilk in a solution of 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda per liter of water overnight before washing as usual.
5. Do not use fabric softeners or conditioners.
6. Avoid bleach, as it damages the fabric's structure.
7. Do not tumble dry.
8. If needed, iron down the length of the garment with a cool iron.
